The downside to custom golf clubs is resale since pros will rarely golf with someone else's clubs. If you're taking the time and putting forth the money for custom clubs this shouldn't be a problem; you'll be using your clubs regularly and they'll last a lifetime.

So if you are truly serious about golf then make sure you have golf clubs that are right for you. Sometimes off-the-shelf clubs will do but if you really want to perfect your game then custom is the way to go.
